Veterinary nurses

Berni joined the team in March 2009 as a student. She qualified in January 2012 & has developed a keen interest in canine behaviour and training. Berni also runs socialisation clinics at the practice. When she is not at work she can be found spending time with her husband and two daughters, her Labrador and her cats.

Verna has worked within veterinary field for over 20 years. She qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2000 and started at Haven in July 2011. In August 2012, Veran was promoted to head nurse. Verna has a variety of animals including a three-legged Lurcher, Yorkie, two cats and three chickens that only lay eggs when they feel like it.

Samantha graduated from Harper Adams University in 2019. Her interests include anaesthesia, emergency and critical care and schedule three nursing, hoping to obtain a certificate in one of these areas in the near future. She also is a clinical supervisor, supporting students throughout their training to become an RVN.

Outside of work Sam enjoys being part of a theatre group and attending regular dance classes.

Christina Studied veterinary nursing while she lived in Cambridge and then qualified in 2016. She joined our nursing team in February 2019, and has an interest in feline nursing and inpatient care. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, which includes a little black cat and two rabbits.

Lorna has been a veterinary nurse since 1998 she became a RVN in 2003, previously working for a practice in North Walsham she joined Haven in 2011. She is particularly interested in dealing with emergencies and every aspect of dental care for pets. Lorna’s interests include spending time with her family, horse riding, walking and socialising with friends. Lorna is a mummy so works part-time at the practice.

Holly joined the nursing team in June 2015. She qualified in 2009 in Somerset. Holly enjoys riding her horse called Fudgy, listening to music and spending time with friends and family. Holly also has a cat called Harry and a dog called Chester.

Penny joined Haven in 2006 as a general nursing assistant. Whilst at Haven she trained as a veterinary nurse and successfully qualified in October 2011. Penny’s interest is in medical nursing and she enjoys working in surgery. At home she has a daughter, two cats called Nala and Stark and has multiple rats.

Natalie started as a patient care assistant and has now progressed to a student veterinary nurse hoping to qualify in 2021. She has a dog called Bailey and a ferret called George. Natalie would like to specialise in zoo animals in the future and has even been to Africa twice to work with orphan rhinos.

Jodie joined the haven team in 2018 as a patient care assistant, she then started her veterinary nursing training with us and qualified in 2022.

In her free time she enjoys being with her two horses and cat. Jodie would like to undertake a course in anaesthesia to further her knowledge in this area.

Charlotte joined Haven in 2021 as a Student Nurse. She is undergoing her studies at Dick White Academy in Newmarket. Charlotte enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing.

She has a dog of her own called Bosley, who is a French Bulldog. In her spare time, she enjoys tap and ballet dancing and likes to train at the gym on a regular basis. She hopes to be a qualified RVN by April of 2024.

Bronwyn joined the team in April 2021 as a PCA to gain valuable experience to support her with her chosen career path to become a RVN in the future.

In Bronwyn's spare time she participates in horse riding competitions in multiple disciplines up to National level on one of her horses Dixie. When at home she enjoys spending time and spoiling her miniature dachshund Kiara.

James joined Haven in September 2011 after Five Years working at a local Reptile Rescue Centre/Zoo. James obtained his Level 2/3 Animal care and Management BTEC Diploma in 2009 From Great Yarmouth College.

James owns all kinds of different animals, mostly rescued, Three House Cats, Ozzie, PJ and Nibbles, 2 Dutch Rabbits Patches and Flopsie and a Black 12Year old Lazy Labrador called Bailey who loves cuddles/Belly rubs on sofa and wearing her bandanas.
