Verna has worked within veterinary field for over 20 years. She qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2000 and started at Haven in July 2011. In August 2012, Veran was promoted to head nurse. Verna has a variety of animals including a three-legged Lurcher, Yorkie, two cats and three chickens that only lay eggs when they feel like it.
Christina Baxter RVN
Chrissy started in Haven in May 2011 as a general nursing assistant, after many years of hard work and revision, she has now qualified as a veterinary nurse which she achieved in August 2016. Chrissy, loves her new role and has found vocation in life. She has a Labrador called Duke and a cat called Kiara.
Berni Black RVN
Berni joined Haven in March 2009. Her interests are surgery and helping clients in her veterinary nurse clinics. She owns two Labradors called Lily and Ruby. Berni also has a cat called Domino and is a mum of two girls. Berni runs a local VW enthusiast club! She enjoys camping, hockey and spending time with her family.
Holly Hartell RVN
Holly joined the nursing team in June 2015. She qualified in 2009 in Somerset. Holly enjoys riding her horse called Fudgy, listening to music and spending time with friends and family. Holly also has a cat called Harry and a dog called Chester.
Elise King RVN
Elise qualified as veterinary nurse in July 2012 after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in London. She has gained experience working in general and referral practice. Her main interests are nursing clinics, feline behaviour and medicine. At home Elise has six cats.
Lorna Larnder RVN
Lorna has been a veterinary nurse since 1998 she became a RVN in 2003, previously working for a practice in North Walsham she joined Haven in 2011. She is particularly interested in dealing with emergencies and every aspect of dental care for pets. Lorna’s interests include spending time with her family, horse riding, walking and socialising with friends. Lorna is a mummy so works part-time at the practice.
Dalila Milheiro RVN
Dalila trained at Haven and sat her finals in the summer of 2007 and was successful as qualifying as a veterinary nurse. Originally from Portugal, Dalila has worked for Haven since 2003. Dalila enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a particular interest in intensive care nursing. She has a cat called Nephilim.
Penny Rainbow RVN
Penny joined Haven in 2006 as a general nursing assistant. Whilst at Haven she trained as a veterinary nurse and successfully qualified in October 2011. Penny’s interest is in medical nursing and she enjoys working in surgery. She has one Samoyed called Yoda, two cats called Nala and Stark.
Gemma Woolston RVN
Gemma joined Haven in 1999 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2004. She is the longest serving nurse in the team. Gemma has a keen interest in surgical nursing, theatre practice and wound management.
Student Veterinary Nurse
Graham is a student veterinary nurse currently studying at College of Animal Welfare. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing especially wildlife nursing. He receives support and guidance from all members of staff. Graham has had several pets over the years but at present has a Guinea Pig called Mocha and two cats Leo and Emma.
General Nursing Assistant
James joined Haven in September 2011. James owns all kinds of different animals, mostly rescued, including a rabbit called Thumper, a Bearded Dragon Called Tyana, two cats Ozzie and PJ and a Labrador called Bailey.
